The Honourable William Gummow AC is a former justice of the High Court of Australia and a professor at the ANU College of Law and the University of Sydney Law School. In 2013, he was appointed to the Court of Final Appeal of Hong Kong as a non-permanent judge. Justice Gummow was called to the NSW Bar in 1976, and appointed to the Federal Court in 1986. He was elevated to the High Court in 1995, and retired in 2012.
